New Book Reveals Blueprint to Data Transformation in Business
This month, data experts Caroline Carruthers and Peter Jackson will publish their second book, Data Driven Business Transformation: How to Disrupt, Innovate and Stay Ahead of the Competition. The book will offer a practical and accessible guide to understanding data as a starting point for businesses, through to managing change and adapting to a new data-driven business landscape. Carruthers and Jackson were both part of the first generation of Chief Data Officers and have first-hand insight into what steps a business has to take to properly use data to gain a competitive advantage.
Once viewed as the solution, technology is now often a stumbling block for many businesses. Having previously authored the bestselling Chief Data Officers Playbook, Carruthers and Jackson’s second book draws on their time working with data for companies such as Network Rail, Southern Water and Legal & General. The authors offer a clear path to transform an organisation from a pre-data phase to the latest in data-driven business management.
“The organisations that harness the power of their data can transform their businesses and become market leaders,” explained Peter Jackson, co-author and Group Data Sciences, Legal and General. “To achieve this, businesses have to change the culture of their organisations and put data at the heart of everything they do. We have written Data-Driven Business Transformation to provide a practical guide for businesses looking to compete and thrive in today's dynamic marketplace.”
Carruthers and Jackson offer a practical guide in how to harness data to not only compete, but also thrive in today’s dynamic marketplace. Data Driven Business Transformation is a vital source of guidance for CEOs, Boards, CTOs, CDOs, data change practitioners, programme managers and others in pursuit of data-driven achievement.
“Companies failing to transform and adapt to a new data-enabled way of doing business have no future,” said co-author Caroline Carruthers. “Peter and I experienced first-hand how important it is to develop a clear and coherent data strategy before embarking on a business transformation. We want to help businesses and data professionals to overcome the stumbling blocks by offering them this practical guide based on our combined experience of nearly 30 years working in the industry.”
