Frank Krause said the new journal represents “an important step in
meeting the needs of the community we serve.” He added that he was
excited that the journal’s editorial board will include appointees from
FASEB member societies. “Given the representation of a broad range of
disciplines in the biosciences, member society input is invaluable in
launching a high-quality journal.”
“We are pleased to partner with FASEB in launching a new open access
publication,” said Colette E. Bean, Vice President and Society Director
at Wiley. “FASEB BioAdvances will publish the most innovative
research in biology and we are honored to serve as the journal’s
publisher with its intended start later this year.”
In discussing her plans for the journal, Dr. Markovac also said, “It is
an honor to serve as FASEB BioAdvances’s inaugural editor. My

About FASEB
Founded in 1912, the Federation of American Societies for
Experimental Biology (FASEB) was originally created by three
independent scientific organizations to provide a forum in which to hold
educational meetings, develop publications, and disseminate biological

has grown to be the nation’s largest coalition of biomedical
researchers, representing 31 scientific societies and more than 125,000
