"Ken Robinson writes brilliantly about the different ways in which creativity is undervalued and ignored . . . especially in our educational systems."

RECLAIM YOUR CREATIVITY. STARTING NOW.
In his best-selling title, Out of Our Minds: The Power of Being Creative, Sir Ken Robinson argues that cultivating our natural powers of imagination, creativity and innovation is essential to personal wellbeing and to the health and sustainability of organisations and communities everywhere. Yet many of us leave school or university with no real idea of our creative abilities and strengths. So how can we unlock those long-lost or undiscovered talents?
Young children are buzzing with ideas, but what changes when we grow up to make us think we're not creative? This latest edition of Out of Our Minds addresses three vital questions:
- Why is it essential to cultivate creativity in education, work and life?
- Why do so many people think they're not creative?
- What can be done about it?
Featuring a new introduction, vivid case studies, updated demographics and revised sections on technological developments and the growing pressures on education systems, this third edition of Out of Our Minds explores these questions and how individuals and organisations can systematically restore and refresh their creative powers.
"It is often said that education and training are the keys to the future. They are, but a key can be turned in two directions. Turn it one way and you lock resources away, even from those they belong to. Turn it the other way and you release resources and give people back to themselves. To realise our true creative potential—in our organisations, in our schools and in our communities—we need to think differently about ourselves and to act differently towards each other. We must learn to be creative."
