John Wiley & Sons, Inc., (NYSE: JWa and JWb) — a global provider of
knowledge and knowledge-enabled services—today announced the launch of Inside
the Cell as part of the Wiley
Open Access publishing program. Inside the Cell publishes
research covering a broad range of areas within cell and molecular
biology and seeks to present integrative insights of broad relevance.
Inside the Cell is the latest addition to Wiley’s portfolio of
cell and molecular biology journals, complementing widely respected
titles such as BioEssays,Traffic,
and Proteins. Inside
the Cell is supported by Editors-in-Chief Dr. Marcos Malumbres from
the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre and Dr. Andrew Moore of
Wiley-VCH, as well as a high-ranking group of associate editors and editorial
board.
“One of the critical aspects of modern biology is its interdisciplinary
nature. Inside the Cell is a unique forum for ideas and
works of relevance in all areas of biological science,” said Dr.
Malumbres. He added, “Its integrative philosophy, combined with
high-quality review and immediate and unrestricted use of published
articles, makes this journal a major force in the advance of science.”
Inside the Cell offers those who contribute to this vitally
important field a new outlet for their research, providing a fast
turnaround to first decision, rigorous and fair peer review, and
editorial attention to optimizing findability and recognition of their
work.
“In the sometimes bewildering world of new open access journals, I think
it’s reassuring for people to see a title that clearly carries over
traditional values from established journals and is supported by such
prominent scientists as Associate Editors and Editorial Board Members,”
commented Dr. Moore, Editor-in-Chief of Inside the Cell.
All articles in Inside the Cell will be published open
access under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) License on Wiley
Online Library and deposited in PubMed Central immediately upon
publication. A publication fee will be payable by authors on acceptance
of their articles. Authors affiliated with, or funded by, an
organization that has a Wiley Open Access Account can publish without
directly paying any publication charges.
The journal is open to submissions now. Please visit the journal’s
