Wiley’s partnership with China dates back to 1979, when it became the
first American publisher active in the country. Today, the company has
offices in Beijing and Shanghai, and its collaboration extends across
the research, education and professional training sectors.
In addition to publishing China’s top research in its over 1600
scientific journals, Wiley has organized hundreds of journal author
workshops to build research and publication skills among China’s next
generation of researchers. Wiley also licenses Simplified Chinese rights
directly to Chinese publishers, while pursuing an aggressive program of
publishing English language versions of Chinese book copyrights
globally. In the professional development sector, Wiley is working with
partners to build and distribute corporate training programs in career
and leadership development as well as programs in fields such as finance.
“We celebrate China’s enormous achievements in becoming a global
publishing and media leader and are honored to have been a partner in
this effort for over 30 years,” said Mark Allin, CEO at Wiley. “We look
forward to working closely with our Chinese partners to ensure continued
growth and innovation in content and solution services, both in China
