Today at the 2015
Women's Summit® Succeed and Thrive! presented by Bryant
University, Bonnie Marcus, M.Ed., an award-winning
entrepreneur, president of Women’s Success Coachingand dynamic thought
leader on women in the workplace, is presenting a workshop titled, “Look
Out Before You Lean In.”
Marcus’s presentation will address how the path to the top isn’t
straightforward, and why it’s critical to understand workplace dynamics
in order to avoid potential barriers. The session will show women how to
identify and plug into the power grid of their organization, as well as
provide the necessary tools to understand and overcome obstacles in
order to achieve success.
“In today’s complex work environment, it’s more important than ever for
women to look out before they lean into their ambition,” said Marcus,
who also is a contributing writer for Forbes and Business
Insider. “Looking out involves observing and understanding the
rules, grasping who has the power and assessing the organizational
culture. Women must also network strategically to build allies and
champions with key stakeholders and self-promote to get ahead. All of
these actions enable women to navigate the workplace successfully and
reach their career goals.”
Marcus’s presentation is in Session A from 9:45 until 11 a.m. ET. For
