John Wiley & Sons (NYSE: JWa and JWb) will provide free access to
biomedical literature in support of the Ebola outbreak relief efforts in
West Africa, aiding responders across the affected population.
As part of this initiative, Wiley is partnering with the Emergency
Access Initiative (EAI), which includes the National Library of
Medicine, the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, and the
Professional/Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association of
American Publishers.
EAI provides temporary free access to full text articles from major
biomedicine titles to healthcare professionals, librarians, and the
public affected by disasters. The free access period in response to the
Ebola crisis is currently August 14, 2014 – September 11, 2014. Access
to over 175 medical and scientific journals includes The Cochrane
Library, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Microbiology
and Immunology, and Medical Anthropology Quarterly.
