John Wiley & Sons (NYSE: JWa and JWb), a global provider of educational
solutions in higher education and CPA exam review material, has
partnered with CollegeFrog, a company that matches high-performing
accounting students and graduates with employers across the nation, to
increase the internship opportunities available to U.S. accounting
students.
Students using WileyPLUS with Kieso, Weygandt, Warfield’s Intermediate
Accounting 15th Edition, the market
leader in the intermediate accounting course, will now have early access
to all internship listings posted on CollegeFrog starting in
mid-February.
CollegeFrog, WileyPLUS, and Wiley CPAexcel have also today launched
“National Meet the Firms Week”, a free online recruiting event that
introduces job and internship-seeking accounting students to firms
across the country. During Meet the Firms Week, students’ online
profiles and resumes will be distributed to every registered firm in
their state. The event, which runs through to 7th February
2014, also supports students’ career development process with daily
informational webinars.
“Wiley has been the preeminent leader in accounting education for
decades, and we continue to create the best platforms to help support
the progression of accounting majors. Our partnership with CollegeFrog
will help students to have greater access to the best accounting
internships, and connect their course work to help launch their future
careers.” says Steve Smith, President and CEO of Wiley.
“For the thousands of firms wanting to hire top level interns the
traditional model no longer works. The days of taking time off to travel
to a college campus, or multiple campuses, are well and truly over,”
says Jeff Phillips, CEO of CollegeFrog. “Wiley and CollegeFrog, through
our unique initiatives, provide every firm, from the Big Four to smaller
local firms, with the best opportunity to find the right talent at a
lower cost.”
CollegeFrog's internships will be featured in WileyPLUS, a
research-based, online environment for effective teaching and learning.
Students using WileyPLUS will be able to search for
internships within the same platform as they read their e-textbook, do
their homework, and prepare for exams.
