New global online community-based subscription service for financial reporting professionals

HOBOKEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wiley is pleased to announce the launch of Wiley Insight IFRS, a new global online community-based subscription service for financial reporting professionals.

Wiley Insight IFRS connects accounting professionals with thought leaders from around the world, offering users:

  • a platform to engage with experts, decision makers and policy influencers including Sir David Tweedie and Warren McGregor;
  • immediate access to Wiley Insight IFRS’ independent and trusted content including news, analysis, current IFRS standards, published books, worked examples and disclosure checklists;
  • a community to discuss and debate the latest IFRS standards, interpretations, exposure drafts and current issues.

Whether the user is a financial controller, auditor, accountant, IFRS specialist, or partner in a public accounting firm, Wiley Insight IFRS provides specific guidance on the topics that matter most, from experts across the globe.

At the heart of this new platform is Global Insights, a unique forum featuring topics and questions selected and written by our editorial board which are answered by an expert panel from a range of firms and jurisdictions. The panel will share their unbiased, comprehensive and practical knowledge with the community, driving discussions on these topics and responding to questions from subscribers. Topics covered on Global Insights so far include leases, hedge accounting, consolidated financial statements and joint arrangements with responses from the US, Canada, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore, the UK and several European countries.

Warren McGregor, inaugural International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) member and joint editor-in-chief Wiley Insight IFRS said: “I personally believe this new service has the potential to become the go-to place for information about IFRS.”

Sir David Tweedie, former chairman, IASB, chairman, International Valuation Standards Council and joint editor-in-chief Wiley Insight IFRS described it as: “A superb forum and a major force for solving financial reporting problems.”

David Pugh, VP & Publisher, Wiley said: “We know how important it is for subscribers to have access to the latest information. Our panel and editorial board therefore include not only former IASB members but also academics, practitioners (such as award-winning technical accountant Steve Collings), representatives from top tier accounting firms (like Andrew Watchman, Global Head IFRS Grant Thornton), and panellists from the Big 4. This level of access and interaction, with our board and panel, is just one of the elements that sets Wiley Insight IFRS apart.”

Once subscribers have selected their preferences, they will be directed to content tailored to these interests each time they log on.

This will include user-generated content, input from the board and panel as well as the latest news and most recent updates on their chosen subjects. All content is tagged by region, industry, subject and content type, enabling users to easily locate the resources they need.

“We know that the key to an effective online community is user experience – from simple, secure access to valuable content from trusted sources. We are confident Wiley Insight IFRS brings something new and beneficial to our customers.” David Pugh concluded.
