Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly
publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., today announced a
partnership with the Society of Actuaries to publish six prestigious
publications in the field of actuarial science beginning in 2012.
The publications are designed to prepare for the Construction and
Evaluation of Actuarial Models (C/4) actuarial examination. They will be
the Society of Actuaries’ first books in print and electronic formats
for the C/4 exam, sitting alongside Wiley-Blackwell’s leading book
programs in mathematics, statistics, economics, and actuarial science.

The six publications will consist of three print books (Loss Models:
From Data to Decisions, Fourth Edition; Advanced Loss
Models: From Data to Decisions; and Loss Models: From Data
to Decisions, Fourth Edition Solutions Manual) and three online
products (Loss Models: From Data to Decisions, Third Edition (One
Year Online): Preparation for Actuarial Exam C/4;Loss Models:
From Data to Decisions, Fourth Edition (One Year Online): Preparation
for Actuarial Exam C/4; and Loss Models: From Data to
Decisions, Fourth Edition (CourseWare): Preparation for Actuarial Exam
C/4).
The three online products will include several innovative
functionalities, including randomized problem sets, multiple plugged-in
spreadsheets, a customized search engine/index, and hyperlinked text.

This will be Wiley-Blackwell’s second collaboration with the Society of
Actuaries, adding to an existing partnership to publish the book Introductory
Stochastic Analysis for Finance and Insurance which was released in
March of 2006.
