In his first book, Content
Rules (Wiley; 2010) with Ann Handley, author C.C. Chapman
focused on the many ways entrepreneurs and organizations of all sizes
could reach their business goals through their content. Now, in his new
book Chapman takes readers on a more personal journey, encouraging them
to reach their professional goals while satisfying their personal ones
as well.
Chapman’s new book, Amazing Things Will Happen: A Real-World
Guide on Achieving Success and Happiness(Wiley; November
2012; Hardcover & ebook; $22.95; ISBN: 978-1-1183-4138-4), explores
how to create a successful business doing what one loves, responsibly
and creatively, using real world examples of people who made amazing
things happen for themselves in all different walks of life. Through
personal anecdotes from the author's life and interviews of successful
individuals across industries, the book demonstrates how to achieve
success, in all aspects of life, while Chapman’s direct and candid style
enables readers to start putting together their own action plan before
they even finish the book.
Chapman takes readers through a creative thinking process and gives them
the common-sense tools and techniques needed to fashion opportunities in
their own life. The topics covered in each chapter are clear enough that
people will find themselves dipping into the book again and again when
they need an inspirational boost (or kick in the pants!). These topics
include:
-
Taking a look at where the reader is now, how to cope with the
situation they’re currently in, and how to make the most of it until
they can break free
-
Exercises and practices that can help define goals and how to set
realistic tasks to reach them
-
How to navigate the seas of doubters and obstacles
-
How to make sure to enjoy the fruits of one’s labors
-
Be happier, satisfied, and more rewarded by the life one chooses to
lead
“My hope with this book is that it makes clear that once you figure out
what you want out of life, if you work very hard, day in and day out,
you can make it happen. But you have to be a good human in addition to
doing the work,” says Chapman. “As you achieve success, never forget to
be kind to others. Help those who need it and share everything you’ve
learned with all who ask. Follow these principles and amazing things
WILL happen.”
Chapman is encouraging the Amazing Things Will Happen readers
to connect with him and each other through the Facebook
Fan Page, which will have discussion threads based on the chapter
topics, Q&A’s with the author, plus videos and updates for additional
encouragement and inspiration.
