John Wiley & Sons, Inc., is pleased to learn that the Royal Swedish
Academy of Sciences has awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for 2012 to
Serge Haroche and David J. Wineland.
Professor Serge Haroche, of Collège de France and Ecole Normale
Supérieure, Paris, France and David J. Wineland, of theNational
Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and University of Colorado
Boulder, CO, USA, were awarded the Nobel Prize for ground-breaking
experimental methods that enable measuring and manipulation of
individual quantum systems; both are published Wiley authors.
Both winners have authored articles for the journals Fortschritte
der Physik and Annalen
Der Physik as well as several book chapters. In addition,
Professor Haroche has written for the Annals
of the New York Academy of Sciences and David J. Wineland for Laser
Physics Letters.
