RNL and Wiley are excited to announce the
publication of “Net Zero Energy Design: A Guide for Commercial
Architecture” (Wiley, ISBN: 978-1-118-01854-5;

of his motivation for writing the book. “All we need to do is set our
sights on it. I hope “Net Zero Energy Design” can help pave
the way.”
“Net Zero Energy Design” is a guide for architects and related
construction professionals in designing and building commercially viable
net zero commercial architecture. The book focuses on application of net
zero energy design principles in a variety of building types and scales.
It also offers practical strategies, step-by-step technical analysis,
valuable examples, developed case studies, and numerous color graphics
and photographs. Tom Hootman, the book’s author, has worked on several
net zero energy designed projects, including the 2011 American Institute
of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top Ten winning
U.S. Department of Energy’s Research Support Facility at the National

uses his expertise and experience to promote green building practices
and share practical advice on net zero energy architecture for
commercial buildings.
