Wiley-VCH, an imprint of John Wiley & Sons, announced the launch of Advanced
Optical Materials, the new section in Advanced Materials collection,
publishing high-impact papers on all aspects of light-matter
interactions.
Advanced Optical Materials will cover breakthrough discoveries
and fundamental research in photonics, plasmonics, metamaterials, and
all important aspects of this burgeoning research field.
"I have been missing a journal of intermediate-high impact because we
photonics people have a hard time publishing highly interesting work not
qualifying for the 'big' generic journals," says Editorial Board member
Prof. Cefe López (Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid). "This
means that much excellent research goes unheeded because there isn't the
right channel to reach the reader. I am sure Advanced Optical
Materials will be welcomed by many researchers."
Advanced Optical Materials will publish communications, full
papers, and reviews. All papers will be free-to-access for the first two
years to maximize their visibility. Authors can already submit papers
now for consideration in Advanced Optical Materials by
visiting http://www.advopticalmat.de/call-for-papers.
"Like Advanced Materials, the new Advanced
Optical Materials will provide our authors and readers with the best
combination of quality, speed, and service," says Dr. Peter Gregory,
Editor-in-Chief of Advanced Materials. "Our goal is to
provide a high-impact forum for researchers working at the intersection
of materials science and optical physics."
Dr. Tim Adams, Editor of Advanced Optical Materials,
explained, "We've watched the growth of this field, and now we think the
time is right for a journal that publishes the best papers on photonics,
plasmonics, optoelectronics, and more. Our goal is to make Advanced
Optical Materials a must-read journal for both materials scientists
and physicists."
The first issue of Advanced Optical Materials will appear in
March 2012 as a section in Advanced Materials (2010 ISI
Impact Factor: 10.880). To be informed when the first issue is
published, sign up for alerts at http://www.advopticalmat.de/.
